I wanted my very first blog post to be a simple introduction: a little about me, a little about LittleChus, and a lot about why this brand exists.

Who I Am

My name is Sarah, and I’m the heart behind littleChus.

I’m a mum, a creator, and a business owner — though that last title is still something I’m growing into. littleChus was born during a season of change in my life, shaped by family, practicality, and a desire to build something meaningful.

What Is littleChus?

littleChus is more than just a brand.
It’s a reflection of love, creativity, and intention.

The name littlechus comes from my surname, Chu, and is inspired by my two daughters — my “little Chus.” They are at the centre of everything I do, and this brand was built with them in mind: their curiosity, their imagination, and the small, meaningful moments we share through play.

At littlechus, we create timeless wooden toys designed to spark curiosity, inspire imagination, and support child-led learning. Rooted in Montessori principles, our toys encourage hands-on exploration and open-ended play, nurturing creativity and independence in children of all ages.

How littlechus Began

littlechus started as an idea — and very quickly became a side hustle.

After moving to a new country, I wanted to create something that could work around my children and our family life, while still keeping my mind busy and engaged. I wasn’t looking for a traditional 9–5; I wanted flexibility, creativity, and something that felt purposeful.

What began as a small idea, worked on during nap times and evenings, slowly grew into littlechus — a brand built around play, learning, and intention.

A New Challenge (With Familiar Skills)

In a past life, I was a data scientist and mathematician, so stepping into the world of small business has been a completely new challenge. From product development to branding, logistics, and content creation, I’ve been learning as I go.

At the same time, it’s been incredibly rewarding to bring my analytical background into this journey — using data, problem-solving, and marketing analytics to make thoughtful, informed decisions as the brand grows.

littlechus lives at the intersection of creativity and logic — heart and numbers — and that balance is reflected in everything we do.
